Rag Doll

Rag Doll in the sea, floating lost on the waves.
How far have you come? Time now to be brave.
Looking down to the ocean below,
How far to go?
Your body pulled by the eb and flow,
the ocean claimed you,
where will it let you go?

Your journey begins in a tiny boat,
your loved one holds you as you start to float,
too many aboard, such a small craft at sea,
hard to breath, hard to see,
Just trying to flee,
be safe, be free.

Hands hold you tight as the waves grow tall,
but the strongest of hands cannot manage it all,
waves rock the ship,
as the balance tips,
cold wet hands slip,
the boat flips.

Now you are under the water above,
pulled from those who give you love,
barriers crossed.
A ragdoll tossed.
Unnecessary cost,
the most precious gift lost,

Whos to blame for such a waste,
Your loved ones for leaving with such haste?
Or the greedy few,
the powerfull who ignore you
and try to misconstrue
your view.

The media moguls who twist the facts
Language used to turn peoples backs
Most do not know
the length to which they’ll go
to slow, the flow.
It’s the bullshit show.

No money to help they say everytime,
but each other they’ll help to build and climb.
Bankers get rises,
MPs wear disguises,
every zealot despises,
no surprises.

Your journey has ended you reach the shore,
A ragdoll afloat you are no more,
A face in the sand,
an ending unplanned
I just cant understand
justice I demand.

A ragdoll no more, heartbreaking your life
A child, a son, pain stabs like a knife,
a migrant? fuck me,
can they really not see,
This ragdoll at sea,
just a child refugee.

What can you do to help?

If this doesn’t break you heart then there really is something wrong with you RIP little man.

“no one would let their children in a boat unless the sea is safer than the land”. http://www.haveamal.wordpress.com

  2. I found this very insightful. I like your spoken word.
